West Blocton Middle School Staffing, Student Work, Meds and Lockers Pickup Updates April 7, 2020
The West Blocton Middle faculty and staff are working very hard to serve the needs of our students. Due to the mandatory social distancing requirements, teachers and other staff members are only in the school building for a very limited amount of time to do crucial tasks such as make educational packets and pickup educational resources. Educators will do most of their essential duties from home to adhere to the guidelines prescribed by the Alabama Health Department in response to the Coronavirus outbreak.
Students that requested educational packets can start picking them up on April 7 after 3:30 pm in the back of the school. Parents or students should email their teachers directly for help with the assignments during the academic days (Monday-Friday during the hours of 7:30-3:30). All requested packets have been created, however, if you feel the need to request a packet, please contact your teachers directly by their email. Please remember that it may take a few days to create the packet, due to limited time in the school building. The teacher will let you know when the packet is ready for pickup.
Curbside Medication and Curbside Locker pickups will be on April 8 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Meds pickups will be in the front of the school. Locker & Band Instruments pickup will be in the back of the school. Meds and locker pickups will be available for only the students that called and arranged for pickups.
Please be aware that social distancing will be strictly adhered to by the staff members for the safety of both the staff members and people picking up the items. Please be patient with WBMS staff members during the pickup process because we are trying to do our best during these trying times.
If you need to speak with any WBMS Administration, Faculty or Staff, please email them because when we are at the school working, we are completing essential tasks such as creating packets, planning lessons and picking up packets to grade. Therefore, you will not be able to reach us by calling the school.
We hope your family has a wonderful Easter this weekend. Good Friday is April 10th and the students have a weather day, so allow them to take the day off from school.
Please stay calm and hopeful!
God bless our community.
