District Library Media Mission and Vision Statement

Mission Statement:
The Bibb County Library Media Program empowers students, faculty, and staff by providing equitable access to diverse resources and innovative technology. We spark curiosity, foster a love of reading, and inspire exploration and creativity. By connecting individuals with ideas, information, and each other, we promote critical thinking, digital citizenship, and lifelong learning to prepare all learners for success in a rapidly changing world.
Vision Statement:
Our vision is to create dynamic, inclusive spaces that inspire exploration, creativity, and critical thinking. We aim to foster a love of reading and learning while connecting people with information and ideas to empower them as lifelong learners in a technology-rich world.

About Me - The Library Media Specialist:
I live in Perry County with my husband and my cat.
  • Bachelors Degree from Troy State University in History and English Education for grades 6-12
  • Masters Degree in History at the University of Alabama at Birmingham
  • Masters Certification in History for grades 7-12 at the University of West Alabama
  • Masters Degree in Education (Library Media) at the University of West Alabama
  • Education Specialist Degree (Teacher Leader) at the University of West Alabama.
I taught in Dallas County prior to coming to WBMS in 2003. This is my 25th year in education. This is my 8th year as the library media specialist.
